Future Fossil Form is a speculative sculptural object—a digitally scanned anthroglomerate composed of plaster casts, synthetic debris, and organic remnants, reimagined as an artefact of a future past. This work blurs the lines between the human and non-human, culture and nature, through a hybrid form animated by a slowed-down soundscape of its own making. Paired with augmented reality, the sculpture transcends physicality, inviting viewers into a contemplative space where technological memory and material transformation converge.
Exhibited as part of Special Relationships at Torrance Art Museum in Los Angeles, this work reflects on shared ecological and cultural concerns across transatlantic practices. The show brings together a dynamic range of voices from London and Los Angeles, including emerging and established artists, to explore how material, identity, and place are shaped by global exchange and local specificity.
