Mess Mesh included in Group Exhibition Clinging On

David exhibited Mess Mesh as part of Clinging On, a group exhibition exploring physical and conceptual precariousness. Featuring 21 artists, the show responded to growing global instability by investigating the tension between collapse and resilience.

Wall-based sculptures in the exhibition reflected an urgent need to “hold on”—whether physically clinging to a surface or conceptually resisting transformation. Works appeared to defy gravity, crack under strain, or dissolve into unfamiliar forms, suggesting a world where stability is no longer a given. The exhibition invited reflection on fragility, adaptation, and resistance in uncertain times.

Kefford’s Mess Mesa contributed to this dialogue by embodying a process of material instability—hovering between accumulation and collapse—evoking bodily structures under pressure and systems on the verge of breakdown.
